Florence Pugh’s Netflix Western Is Officially a Colossal Streaming Hit

Netflix’s seven-episode adaptation of *East of Eden*, starring Florence Pugh, has become a major streaming hit, drawing 25 million views in three weeks. Its performance matters because it puts the literary Western on course to surpass Netflix’s other Western release this year, *Little House on the Prairie*.

The series added 6 million views in its third week and has accumulated 175 million hours watched, after reaching 18 million views in its first two weeks. It premiered on 1 October, stars Christopher Abbott, Mike Faist, Ciarán Hinds and Hoon Lee alongside Pugh, and holds an 86% “Certified Fresh” score on Rotten Tomatoes. *Little House on the Prairie* has 29 million views, while Netflix’s 2025 Western *American Primeval* reached 46 million.
