Florence Road tackle “feeling out of place, lost and confused” on soaring new single ‘7563’

NME · 3 hours ago

Irish band Florence Road have released a new single, '7563', which explores feelings of dislocation and identity confusion. The track follows their 2026 breakout hit 'Hanging Out To Dry', which topped the Irish Airplay Chart and went viral on TikTok, and marks the latest step in the band's rapid rise since being nominated for BBC Radio 1's Sound Of 2026.

The band, who have played '7563' live since 2024 before finally releasing it, describe the song as being about "feeling out of place, lost and confused" and not being sure who you are. It opens with an anthemic intro before building into a heavier chorus and a frantic, distorted bridge. Florence Road released their debut mixtape 'Fall Back' last summer and follow-up EP 'Spring Forward' earlier this year, and have kept up a packed live schedule including festival slots at Latitude, Tramlines and Boardmasters, and a support slot for Wolf Alice at Finsbury Park. They are set to appear at Reading & Leeds and Electric Picnic later this month, with Irish headline dates to follow at the end of the year.
