Montreal musician Ruby McKinnon, who performs as Flower Face, has released a new single called "Bad Dream." The dreamy, atmospheric track follows her 2024 album Girl Prometheus, which earned her recognition as a Stereogum Artist To Watch, and marks her return with a hazy, cinematic sound reminiscent of Mazzy Star.

McKinnon wrote reflective lyrics about self-projection and imagined conflict, and also directed the accompanying music video herself. "Bad Dream" currently stands as a standalone single, though its polish suggests further new music may be on the way.
