Fontaines D.C. have returned to live performance for the first time since touring their 2024 album Romance, opening a two-night stand at Baluarte de la Candelaria in Cádiz, Spain, with a set that included two brand-new songs. It was a significant moment for the Irish band, marking not only their first shows in some time but also their first concert since the death this summer of longtime manager Trevor Dietz, often described as the "sixth member" of the group.

The new tracks, "Marianne" and "Six Shot Morning", were slotted into a 17-song set alongside established favourites such as "Boys In The Better Land" and "Starburster". "Marianne" reportedly carries a Depeche Mode-style sound, while "Six Shot Morning" is more ominous and synth-driven, both appearing to extend the Lynchian atmosphere of Romance. Since their last tour, the band have also featured on the Peaky Blinders soundtrack, the War Child charity compilation HELP(2), and recorded a farewell session at Maida Vale Studios for BBC Radio.
