Daniel Radcliffe's 2016 film Swiss Army Man is becoming available to stream for free on Plex from 1 September, offering fans an offbeat viewing option ahead of HBO's new Harry Potter television adaptation, which premieres on Christmas Day. The film, directed by Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert in their feature debut, cast Radcliffe against type as a flatulent corpse who befriends Paul Dano's stranded, hopeless character on a desert island, marking one of the actor's most unconventional post-Potter roles.

Produced by A24 on a reported budget of around $3 million, Swiss Army Man made just under $6 million at the global box office and went largely unnoticed on release. Despite its modest commercial performance, it was well received by critics, holding a 73% score on Rotten Tomatoes, and is regarded as Radcliffe's second-highest-rated film since Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2 in 2011.
