Zendaya's 2026 black comedy "The Drama", co-starring Robert Pattinson, has arrived on HBO Max after premiering in cinemas in April. The A24 film has been compared favourably to the fraught reunion between Peter Parker and MJ in "Spider-Man: Brand New Day", with critics suggesting it presents an even more unsettling take on relationships and unconditional love.

The film follows Emma (Zendaya), preparing to marry Charlie (Pattinson), whose wedding celebrations unravel when a wine-tasting game forces guests to reveal their worst deeds. Emma's confession, that she once planned but never carried out a school shooting, throws the wedding into question and forces both her fiancé and other characters, including Rachel (Alana Haim), to confront their own pasts. Rather than judging Emma outright, the film uses the premise to explore whether there is a limit to what can be forgiven within a relationship.
