Former 60 Minutes correspondent Cecilia Vega has alleged that CBS News managers sought politically slanted changes to her reporting before she was dismissed during a management overhaul. Her remarks add to wider claims from former staff that editorial independence at the programme was being undermined, allegations CBS News has denied.

Speaking at a journalism conference, Vega said she was urged to include unverified footage of protesters attacking plain-clothes ICE officers in a Minneapolis immigration story, and to frame an Iran-war report with language she described as an administration talking point. She also cited suggested changes involving Minneapolis officials and an interview with JD Vance for a report on nutrition-assistance cuts; she said none appeared in her broadcasts. Vega and Sharyn Alfonsi were dismissed in May, executive producer Tanya Simon was replaced by Nick Bilton, and correspondent Scott Pelley was dismissed the following week.
