Former Auburn and Kansas City Chiefs football player Bobby Hunt has died aged 85, the Alabama Sports Hall of Fame confirmed. Hunt was known as a versatile two-way player at Auburn and later started for the Chiefs in Super Bowl I, marking him as part of an important early period in professional American football.

The Hall of Fame, which inducted Hunt in 2015, paid tribute to him and offered condolences to his family and friends. His cause of death was not immediately disclosed; before his college and professional career, he played quarterback at Lanett High School in Alabama.
