Neil Henderson, a guitarist best known for his role in the early Bay City Rollers lineup, has died at the age of 73. Henderson had been ill for some time and was recovering from a stroke when he passed away. The announcement was made by Middle of the Road, another band he performed with throughout his career, and he is remembered as both a talented musician and dedicated family man who prioritised his relationships.

Henderson played with the Bay City Rollers during their early years and contributed to their first major hits before departing in 1972. Beyond the Rollers, he served as guitarist and co-writer for Middle of the Road on tracks including "Rockin' Soul" and "Everybody Loves a Winner." He later left that band to tour extensively with his daughter Shona, gigging together from 1999 until 2018, and recorded a final solo album shortly before his stroke in 2022, consisting of covers and original compositions.
