Epic Games is giving Fortnite players a free character skin to promote the launch of Control Resonant, the long-awaited sequel to Remedy Entertainment's 2019 hit Control. Anyone who buys Control Resonant through the Epic Games Store will receive a Dylan Faden skin at no extra cost, tying the two properties together ahead of the sequel's release and giving Fortnite players another reason to pick up the new game.

The skin becomes available from 26 August at 12am EST, a day before Control's seventh anniversary, and the promotion runs indefinitely, so future purchasers will still qualify. Control Resonant is due out on 24 September 2026, casting players as Dylan Faden, brother of original protagonist Jesse, wielding a shapeshifting weapon called the Aberrant. The skin will also go on sale separately in Fortnite's Item Shop for 1,500 V-Bucks at an unconfirmed date, likely around launch; those who buy it in-shop before qualifying for the free gift will get a one-off 1,500 V-Bucks refund, though refunding the game itself will remove the skin or V-Bucks from their account.
