Four people have been found dead and a child is fighting for their life after a stabbing spree at a home in Houma, Louisiana, roughly 55 miles southwest of New Orleans. Deputies responding to reports of a stabbing found the youngster with apparent knife wounds before discovering multiple bodies inside a nearby property, prompting an active investigation by local authorities into what happened and how the victims are connected.

The injured child was airlifted by Acadian Ambulance Service Air Med to a hospital outside the area and remains in critical condition. The Terrebonne Parish Sheriff's Office confirmed at least four other victims were pronounced dead, though their identities, ages and any relationship to the surviving child have not been disclosed. Sheriff Timothy Soignet said the inquiry is in its early stages, with detectives still gathering evidence.
