Milo Yiannopoulos, the British far-right commentator recently deported from the US, is facing disturbing allegations from his estranged husband, John McKinley Campbell, who claims their nine-year marriage involved racist abuse, violence and manipulation. Campbell's divorce filing, lodged in Los Angeles Superior Court in January 2025, includes claims that Yiannopoulos referred to him using a racial slur, told him "I pay. You obey," and threatened his life, alongside allegations that he was made to sleep in a basement. The allegations complicate the narrative Yiannopoulos presented in a recent Piers Morgan interview, where he described a stable, comfortable life in Los Angeles with his husband and cats before his arrest and removal from the US.

Court documents allegedly include text messages in which Yiannopoulos offered Campbell $100,000 to complete Green Card paperwork and admitted he had "only been using" Campbell to secure legal residency. The couple married in Hawaii in 2017 and reportedly lived a lavish lifestyle across properties in New Jersey, Virginia and Los Angeles, including a $7.5 million Bel Air-area home once linked to associates of Kanye West, before Campbell filed for divorce in January 2025. Yiannopoulos was arrested by ICE officers at New Orleans airport in late August over an alleged visa overstay, a move he has vowed to challenge, while denying all of Campbell's allegations of abuse.
