The Hollywood Reporter · 2 hours ago

Comic book legend Frank Miller, creator of Dark Knight Returns and Sin City, spoke to The Hollywood Reporter while on tour for his new memoir Push the Wall: My Life, Writing, Drawing, and the Art of Storytelling. The 69-year-old discussed his career, mentors and current projects, including why a planned Doctor Strange series never materialised and his complicated departure from Marvel in the 1980s, which involved friction with then editor-in-chief Jim Shooter.

The book has debuted in the top 15 of the New York Times best-seller list and earned a starred review from Publishers Weekly, with Miller appearing alongside collaborators including Zack Snyder and Robert Rodriguez during the tour. He also attended the Los Angeles premiere of Spider-Man: Brand New Day, which features his creation The Hand, and praised Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey. A companion documentary, Frank Miller: American Genius, gets a wide digital release this week, and Miller says he has no intention of slowing down, with a new Sin City book and a title called Invasive Species, published by Dark Horse, both in the works.
