Fresh off its Wiz payout, Index Ventures raises $2B across three funds
Index Ventures has raised $2 billion across three new and expanded funds, strengthening its capacity to back start-ups from seed stage through growth. The fundraising follows significant returns from its investment in cybersecurity company Wiz, whose $32 billion sale to Alphabet highlights the firm’s recent performance.
The 30-year-old investor raised $400 million for a seed fund and $900 million for a venture fund, while adding $700 million to a growth fund initially raised at $1.5 billion in 2024. This brings Index’s available capital to $3.5 billion; it previously raised $2.3 billion across two funds two years ago. Index reportedly held a 12% stake in Wiz worth about $3.8 billion, and has also invested early in Figma, Anthropic, Fireworks AI and Physical Intelligence.
