Fujiya & Miyagi Announce New Album ‘New Shiny Object’

Clash · 2 hours ago

Brighton four-piece Fujiya & Miyagi have announced their new album, 'New Shiny Object', due for release on 30th October via their own label, Impossible Objects Of Desire. The record explores themes of ageing, grief and the pleasure of making music, blending the band's krautrock-indebted sound (nodding to Neu! and CAN) with pop influences drawn from Talking Heads and New Order.

The album is a compact ten-track collection, including one instrumental, and will be released across two sides of vinyl. Lead single 'Lowest Common Denominator' is available now, with singer David Best describing the song's simple aim as making people dance. The full tracklisting includes songs such as 'Point 33', 'Recurring158', 'Elasticated Waste' and the title track 'New Shiny Object'.
