Full list of Park & Rides in Sheffield with 1,800 free spaces as Meadowhall site set for £11m upgrade
Meadowhall Park & Ride, a major transport interchange in Sheffield, faces persistent capacity constraints and is being upgraded through an £11 million investment programme. The facility currently provides 328 parking spaces but regularly reaches full occupancy by mid-morning, prompting plans for a multi-storey car park development that would add 175 additional bays to address commuter demand.
The Meadowhall upgrade is part of Sheffield's wider Park & Ride network, which comprises eight separate facilities distributed across the city and offering over 1,800 free parking spaces in total. These hubs connect commuters to various public transport modes including buses, trams, trains and the emerging tram train service, serving as interchange points designed to support mode shift away from private vehicles.
