Future Palace's Maria Lessing and Manuel Kohlert have shared a track-by-track breakdown of their new album Resurgence, out 31 July via Century Media Records. The pair discuss the writing, themes and musical influences behind each song, offering fans insight into the record's blend of rock energy and heavier, metal-leaning breakdowns.

Songs covered include opener Deep Blue, described as rock-oriented with heavy breakdowns, and Resurge, which Lessing calls the album's thematic centrepiece, exploring self-reinvention with Nu Metal and 2000s influences. Other tracks discussed include the experimental Supernova, built around processed vocal samples and an acoustic guitar section; Disintegrate, addressing despair and self-loathing; The Shades, among the band's heaviest work; Nixy, inspired by Nordic mythology and aimed at criticising toxic figures in the music industry; Thorns, noted for its fast, riff-driven guitar work; and Ebb and Flow, which began as Lessing's own instrumental demo.
