Games industry analyst says Meccha Chameleon’s June revenue on PC was second only to Fortnite

PC Gamer · 2 weeks ago

Meccha Chameleon, a low-budget social hide-and-seek game, generated the second-highest PC revenue in June across selected Western markets, behind only Fortnite. The result indicates that inexpensive, accessible multiplayer games can achieve major commercial success when amplified by social-media attention.

Newzoo’s ranking covered the US, UK, Germany, France, Spain and Italy; Counter-Strike 2, Valorant and League of Legends followed Meccha Chameleon. Analyst Mert Şahin attributed its performance to its low price and hardware requirements, alongside viral exposure on platforms including YouTube; Fortnite led both PC and console rankings.

  • Meccha Chameleon was June’s second-highest-grossing PC game in selected Western markets.
  • Only Fortnite earned more on PC.
  • Accessibility and viral popularity helped drive sales.
