Garbage Was Forced to Announce Free Mexico City Concert Early After Leak from City Government

Consequence ·

Garbage had planned to announce a free Mexico City concert on Friday, but the city government revealed it a day early in a post on its official X account. The post was deleted, but the news had already spread, prompting the band to confirm the show themselves.

The Shirley Manson-fronted band will perform at the Zócalo on 14 November at 8 pm local time, with no tickets required. Garbage said they were honoured by the invitation and described the concert as the high point of their 30-year relationship with Mexican audiences; the square was once a ceremonial centre of the Aztec capital, Tenochtitlan.
