GB’s Fraser wins all-around bronze at Worlds

BBC Sport ·

Joe Fraser won bronze in the men’s all-around at the World Artistic Gymnastics Championships in Rotterdam, recovering from Britain’s disappointment in the team event. His medal makes him only the third British man to win a world all-around medal, while Jake Jarman’s sixth place gave Britain its best combined result by two men in the event.

Fraser scored 83.531, behind Japan’s Daiki Hashimoto, who won a fourth consecutive world title with 85.988, and China’s Haonan Yang on 84.199. Jarman scored 82.865. Britain finished fourth in the team event and missed direct qualification for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics, but will have another chance at next year’s World Championships.

In short

  • Fraser claimed Britain’s third men’s world all-around medal.
  • Hashimoto secured his fourth consecutive title.
  • Britain can still qualify for LA 2028 next year.
