Geddy Lee, Alex Lifeson, and Famous Guest Drummers Honor Neil Peart in New Documentary
A forthcoming documentary on Rush's late drummer and lyricist Neil Peart will debut on CBC next month, featuring input from his surviving bandmates and prominent percussionists reflecting on his artistic significance. The film, titled 'Neil Peart: No One's Disciple,' brings together Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson alongside interviews that examine Peart's standing as one of rock music's most influential and technically accomplished drummers.
As part of the project, the pair recorded live performances of Rush classics with celebrated guest drummers including Stewart Copeland from the Police, Chad Smith of the Red Hot Chili Peppers, and Danny Carey from Tool—with some representing new musical collaborations. Alongside these recording sessions, Lee and Lifeson are currently touring with drummer Anika Nilles, incorporating multiple tributes to Peart within each concert as they continue to celebrate his legacy following his death from cancer in 2020.
