Rush bassist Geddy Lee has recounted an eerie encounter linked to late drummer Neil Peart, which occurred during the opening night of the band's ongoing Fifty Something tour in June. Speaking to Toronto radio station Q107 ahead of Rush's first hometown shows in a decade, Lee described the moment after being asked whether he had sensed Peart's presence on the road, calling it "a remarkable moment" despite insisting he is not someone who believes in the supernatural.

Lee explained that after the tour's opening night, while staying at a Los Angeles hotel and texting bandmate Alex Lifeson, he noticed his room door was ajar and spotted a bird on the floor in front of him. He said the bird closely resembled the imagery on the Fifty Something tour posters, which depict two birds on a wire with one flying away, lending the sighting an added significance given its connection to Peart, who died in January 2020.
