Genshin Impact players will have another opportunity to claim free character upgrades when the 'To Temper Thyself and Journey Far' event restarts on August 10, coinciding with the anticipated launch of update 7.0 and the new Snezhnaya region. This marks a significant milestone as the event completes its initial four-cycle run, potentially opening the door for new characters to be added to the reward pool in future iterations.

The event allows players to earn free Constellations—permanent stat boosts and ability unlocks—for five-star characters they already possess by completing weekly tasks over a 12-week period. Players must participate for at least eight of the twelve weeks and log at least five days of activity each week to earn one Constellation reward; whilst most players use the event to give a character without Constellations their first power-up, veterans can also use free rewards to further enhance already-upgraded units.
