The annual gaming industry awards ceremony will take place on 10 December 2026 at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles, according to an announcement from host and creator Geoff Keighley. The event is scheduled four months ahead, with ticket sales and additional information to be made available during autumn. Keighley will also oversee Opening Night Live at Gamescom in the coming weeks.

The announcement follows last year's ceremony, where Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 received the Game of the Year honour, whilst Nintendo titles Donkey Kong Bananza and Mario Kart World earned awards in the family and sports categories respectively. The December event will be preceded by several major industry showcases, including Gamescom and September's Tokyo Game Show, where publishers including Square Enix and Nintendo plan to demonstrate upcoming titles.
