George and Amal Clooney have evacuated their home near Brignoles in southern France as a wildfire threatened the area. The couple said they were unsure whether their hilltop estate would survive, but pledged to support the village’s recovery, highlighting the wider disruption caused by the blaze.

The fire burned about 130 hectares between Wednesday and Thursday, leading to the evacuation of roughly 600 residents and injuries to four firefighters. Authorities deployed 270 firefighters, 70 vehicles and aerial aircraft to contain it, while crews continued tackling hotspots amid forecasts of higher temperatures and stronger southerly winds.
