George Lucas's newly opened Lucas Museum of Narrative Art in Los Angeles largely bypasses the Star Wars content produced since he sold Lucasfilm to Disney in 2012, instead centring almost entirely on his original creative work. This is a notable statement given how much the franchise has expanded under Disney's ownership, with the new museum instead choosing to celebrate the saga as Lucas himself made it, over a decade after he stepped away from the company.

The museum's sole nod to the Disney era is Grogu, the character from The Mandalorian, who appears alongside Yoda in a sculpture by Lawrence Noble. Everything else prominently featured draws from the original and prequel trilogies, including moments such as Leia's confrontation with Jabba the Hutt and Padmé's battle with the Nexu, while the inaugural Star Wars in Motion exhibition is built entirely around the first six films, showcasing props and vehicles like Luke Skywalker's Landspeeder and General Grievous' Wheel Bike. Notably, although Grogu was created after Lucas's departure, he was reportedly consulted on the character during development, with Lucasfilm's Dave Filoni recalling Lucas's particular concern about the young Force-user's training.
