‘Ghosts’ Meets ‘Meet the Parents’ in CBS’s New Fantasy Series

Collider · 3 hours ago

CBS has unveiled Eternally Yours, a new fantasy sitcom from Ghosts showrunners Joe Port and Joe Wiseman, blending supernatural comedy with the family-tension humour of Meet the Parents. The half-hour series will premiere on 8 October and follows a vampire couple in modern-day Seattle whose 500-year marriage is tested when their daughter starts dating a human, forcing them to confront long-buried anxieties about eternal commitment.

The show stars Allegra Edwards and Ed Weeks as vampire spouses Liz and Charles, who react badly upon meeting their daughter Emma's human boyfriend, Max, played by Jaren Lewison. The pilot, first written by Port and Wiseman in 2015, took over a decade to reach production, eventually emerging alongside their work adapting Ghosts for American television. Both showrunners have suggested a possible crossover between the two series, and cast members have expressed enthusiasm for the idea, with Edwards noting her character's resemblance to a former girlfriend of a Ghosts character.
