Glasner glee and Delap double – win could be lift-off for Forest
Nottingham Forest beat Manchester City 3-1 for their first Premier League home win of the season, giving manager Oliver Glasner a much-needed result and a reason to celebrate. The victory matters because Forest’s lively attacking play had not been producing goals, leaving them near the foot of the table despite creating chances.
Liam Delap scored twice, having managed just one goal in his first eight appearances for Forest, while Jair Cunha also scored. Before the match, Forest had taken six points despite expected points of 15.49, scored only six league goals from 152 shots and converted 4% of their attempts. Delap scored twice from three shots against City after scoring once from 24 attempts in his first eight games.
In short
- Forest beat Manchester City 3-1 at home.
- Liam Delap scored twice.
- The win ended Forest’s home league drought this season.
