God of War keeps changing faces as Atreus and Thor’s daughter Thrud are confirmed for a season two recast

Destructoid · 2 hours ago

The God of War television series will recast two more young roles for its second season, with older actors set to take over as Atreus and Thrud, Thor's daughter. The change follows the studio's earlier decision to replace lead actor Ryan Hurst after an injury, though this latest recast is driven by the story's timeline rather than any mishap, since season two needs to depict the characters as teenagers rather than young children.

According to a report from MP1st, a casting call has gone out for actors aged 14 to 17 to play the characters, listed under the names Joshua and Ruth, identified as Atreus and Thrud respectively. This is notably older than the 9-to-12 age range used to cast season one's Callum Vinson and Island Austin. The casting details also suggest that season two will begin several years after season one and adapt the events of the game God of War Ragnarok.
