Sony has confirmed that God of War Laufey will launch exclusively for PlayStation 5 on 16 February 2027. The announcement, made at San Diego Comic-Con and on social media, gives a firm date for the next God of War title, which shifts focus to Faye, also known as Laufey, as its protagonist.

Developer Cory Barlog said the game will extend the existing world while introducing unexpected characters and setting up future developments. The project was revealed during the Summer Game Fest period and has prompted debate over Faye’s leading role, though actor Deborah Ann Woll has dismissed criticism; Sony has also indicated the game will receive a physical disc release, but not a PC version.
