Sony Santa Monica has confirmed that God of War Laufey will launch exclusively for PlayStation 5 on 16 February 2027, placing it in an increasingly crowded month for major game releases. The spin-off is significant because it is the first God of War title not led by Kratos, instead following Faye, also known as Laufey.

The date was announced at San Diego Comic-Con 2026, alongside confirmation that further Kratos-led games, including a remake of the Greek trilogy, are in development. Laufey is set after Faye’s death in 2018’s God of War, introduces gods beyond Greek and Norse mythology, and features faster combat; it stars Deborah Ann Woll as Faye and Jack Quaid as a cosmic cube companion, with a physical edition also planned.
