Santa Monica Studio used its San Diego Comic-Con panel for God of War Laufey to announce a further God of War game starring Kratos, while also discussing Laufey/Faye’s role in the series. The announcement matters because Laufey shifts the focus to Kratos’s late wife, whose relationship with him is presented as central to his personal transformation.

The panel featured director Ariel Lawrence, creative lead Cory Barlog and cast members Deborah Ann Woll, Chris Judge, Jack Quaid and Perlina Lau. Woll described Faye as a reluctant hero, while Judge said she represented the beginning of Kratos’s change towards hope, forgiveness and becoming a better father; the cast also shared stories about their auditions and performance work.
