Christopher Judge, who plays Kratos in the God of War games, has criticised screen adaptations such as HBO’s The Last of Us for failing to involve the people who created or performed in the original games. He argued that excluding those contributors risks losing valuable knowledge of the characters and stories, and questioned why adaptation teams would make that choice.

Judge made the comments while discussing the growing number of video-game adaptations, which have achieved greater mainstream success in recent years. Although he did not single out every production for direct criticism, he said game creators and performers should be consulted or included because they helped establish what audiences connected with in the first place.
