Godflesh Announce Final Album Decay, Unleash “Living/Ending”: Stream

Consequence · 3 hours ago

Industrial metal band Godflesh have announced that their tenth album, Decay, will be their final release. Due on 25 September via Relapse Records, it follows 2023’s Purge and arrives with the lead single “Living/Ending”, a bleak, heavy track that reflects the group’s longstanding abrasive sound.

The album was recorded during the Purge sessions, but founding member Justin Broadrick’s recovery from major abdominal surgery has made continuing the project impossible. He said years of Godflesh’s intense vocal performances contributed to a hernia, and that some vocals were recorded while he was already suffering from it; Decay was mixed after surgery. The six-track album includes “Master and Slave”, “Living/Ending” and “Consume Me”.

  • Godflesh will end with tenth album Decay on 25 September.
  • “Living/Ending” is the album’s newly released lead single.
  • Justin Broadrick’s surgery recovery prompted the project’s conclusion.
