Gold and silver for Wales pair in points race

Anna Morris and Jess Roberts won gold and silver respectively for Wales in the women’s 25km points race at the 2026 Commonwealth Games. The result gives Wales a one-two finish and adds to Morris’s earlier individual pursuit gold and team pursuit bronze, underlining her strong track cycling campaign.

Morris controlled the race by scoring in each of the first three sprints and gaining a lap on the field with about 60 laps remaining, worth 20 points. Roberts also lapped the pack, and although the pair exchanged the lead during the second half, Morris won the final sprint to finish on 66 points; Roberts took silver, two points ahead of Australia’s Georgia Baker.
