The points race is a track cycling event in which riders compete over a set distance, with regular sprints adding points to their totals. Riders can also gain points by lapping the main group, so the result depends on both sprint finishes and how riders manage the race.

Anna Morris and Jess Roberts are Welsh track cyclists. Georgia Baker is an Australian rider, and all three compete for individual medals at the Commonwealth Games, a multi-sport event for athletes from Commonwealth nations and territories.

A one-two finish means Wales took both first and second place. Morris’s earlier medals in the individual and team pursuit events also contribute to Wales’s overall cycling results at the Games.
