A golden retriever named Nash was filmed trying to play with a man who allegedly broke into his San Diego home, rather than barking or defending the property. The incident attracted attention because the four-year-old dog repeatedly approached the intruder with a toy and wagged his tail, prompting people to call him an exceptionally friendly, if ineffective, guard dog.

The homeowners were alerted by their Ring security system while returning from Chicago and contacted police after seeing the stranger inside. Police reportedly found and arrested 57-year-old John Paul Cline, who had eaten food and apparently slept in the house but took little else; he faces burglary, battery, vandalism and controlled-substance charges.
