Golfer distracted by ‘a nice rack’ shanks tee shot in the direction of large bull elk, wisely grabs a new ball
A golfer in Estes Park, Colorado, hit a tee shot towards a nearby bull elk called Smash and chose to abandon the ball and try again. The incident matters because Smash is known for chasing vehicles and golf carts that get too close, making retrieving the ball a risky choice.
The golfer’s second shot was described as much better, though the article gives no score or other details. A woman identifying herself as the golfer said she may have been distracted by the elk’s impressive antlers; a local outdoors account also noted that Smash has been causing trouble this year.
- A golfer’s tee shot landed near a bull elk called Smash.
- She took another ball rather than retrieve it.
