Google adds flight alerts and hotel bookings to AI Mode

Engadget · 2 hours ago

Google is adding travel-planning tools to Search’s AI Mode, allowing users to track flight prices, compare travel costs using loyalty miles or hotel points, and book hotels through the chatbot. The changes matter because they extend AI Mode from providing travel suggestions into monitoring prices and completing purchases.

Flight price tracking covers options from more than 300 airlines and travel sites, with email alerts when fares change, although it is unavailable in the European Economic Area. Miles and points comparisons initially support selected airline and hotel loyalty programmes, while hotel booking via Google Pay will launch in US English with partners including Expedia, Marriott and Priceline.

  • AI Mode can now track flight-price changes by email.
  • Users can compare flights and hotels in miles or reward points.
  • Hotel booking begins in the US through Google Pay.
