The Asian Contents & Film Market (ACFM), part of the Busan International Film Festival, will run its InnoAsia 2026 programme exploring the crossover between film and emerging technology, with participants including Amazon Web Services, Google DeepMind, Alibaba Group and Kling AI. The initiative reflects a broader push to bring AI and other advanced technologies into filmmaking, spanning brand-funded short films, virtual production tools and the fast-growing microdrama sector, and underlines Busan's ambition to position itself as a hub connecting Asian content creators with global technology firms and investors.

Highlights include Cinema by Brand 2026, a new competition run with Innocean and the Producers Guild of Korea inviting 20-minute short films based on Hanwha Group's "Space Solar Power", with winners announced during the market and given production funding. AWS and MegazoneCloud will introduce new awards for startups, distributed via a proof-of-concept process, while Kling AI will co-host sessions on AI-driven filmmaking. Seven Korean startups selected via an open call, alongside international firms such as Lux AI and imCore, will showcase tools covering casting, screenplay analysis, dubbing across 29 languages, virtual production and audience-response measurement, across three programme tracks covering technology investment, creative production and industry policy.
