Google has announced that its Pixel 11 phones will place greater emphasis on proactive AI assistance, with Gemini Intelligence offering contextual suggestions and information while users use apps. The move matters because it shifts the phones’ AI features beyond responding to direct prompts, although some higher-volume uses may require a subscription.

Examples include on-screen cards showing flight status during conversations about travel, offers to book restaurant reservations, and suggestions to save relevant details to Calendar, Maps or Google Wallet. A location-based preview feature will provide lock-screen information about nearby venues; the phones also introduce SL2T sign-language-to-text support and Magic Capture, which analyses roughly 400 frames to create a selected 12-megapixel photo and can generate video without changing modes.
