Grammy-Winning Singer Postpones Shows After Getting Appendicitis on Her Birthday

American Songwriter · 2 hours ago

Grammy-winning singer Phoebe Bridgers has postponed a run of UK shows after developing appendicitis on her birthday, days after releasing her third album, Lost Weekend. She shared the news via an Instagram Story, posting a photo from her hospital bed and confirming that all UK dates this week would need to be rescheduled, with make-up dates yet to be announced.

Bridgers turned 32 on 17 August, just three days after Lost Weekend's release, and had been due to play two shows each in Kingston upon Thames, Brighton and Bristol. She now has just under a month to recover before launching The Lost Tour in Indianapolis on 15 September, which will run through North America until Halloween before a European leg beginning in late November and concluding in Stockholm on 12 December. The new album has already drawn high praise from friend and fellow musician Taylor Swift, who called it "an absolute triumph in every way."
