AI note-taking app Granola has launched a dedicated Apple Watch app, aiming to let users record and transcribe meetings without needing to reach for their phone. The move reflects a wider push among meeting-notetaker companies to reduce friction in capturing in-person conversations, particularly informal settings such as walking one-to-one meetings, and follows Granola's rise to unicorn status earlier this year.

Users can set the Granola app as an Apple Watch face to begin transcribing instantly, and it will also surface reminders for upcoming meetings while syncing with the existing iOS app launched last year. Co-founder Chris Pedregal said internal testing showed a significant shift in employee usage from iPhone to Apple Watch once the feature was available. Granola opted to build for Apple Watch rather than partner with a separate recording hardware device, a route other firms have taken; rival dictation app Monlogue added similar Apple Watch support earlier this year. Granola raised a $125 million Series C led by Index Ventures earlier in 2026.
