Beau Greaves narrowly lost 6-5 to Rob Cross in a closely contested match on her PDC European Tour debut at the Hungarian Darts Trophy. The defeat denied the 22-year-old the chance to become the first woman to win a European Tour match, but underlined her rapid rise in professional darts.

Greaves qualified after beating Tom Bissell last month, becoming the first woman to reach a PDC European Tour event. She led 5-4 and needed 70 to win in the deciding leg, but two errors allowed former world champion Cross to take victory; Greaves had already made history by winning a PDC ranking title in April.
