Grinspoon frontman Phil Jamieson has cancelled his solo tour of Australia after fracturing a vertebra in an onstage accident. The 49-year-old singer slipped and struck his spine on a drum riser during a gig at The Deck Traralgon in Victoria on 8 August, cutting the show short and requiring an ambulance to hospital.

Jamieson revealed on Instagram that tests confirmed a fracture to his L1 vertebra, with doctors prescribing bed rest and a lengthy recovery, forcing him to scrap the remaining PJ Air tour dates and the launch party for his new solo album, 10Charlie, out 14 August. He told fans that venues and ticketing agencies would be in touch about refunds, and thanked supporters for their well-wishes while urging them to still check out the record. Jamieson has fronted Grinspoon since 1995 and marked the band's 30th anniversary with a tour last year.
