Grupo Duelo Honored for Regional Mexican Airplay No. 1 Hits at Latin Music Week: ‘We Made Norteño Music More Romantic’

Billboard ·

Grupo Duelo celebrated two No. 1 hits on the Regional Mexican Airplay chart at the 2026 Billboard Latin Music Week. The recognition comes during a major year for the group, which has returned to a label partnership and begun its first arena tour across the United States and Mexico.

Frontman Oscar Iván Treviño said Duelo helped bring a more romantic sound and varied rhythms to norteño music, while stressing its roots in the culture shared by northern Mexico and southern Texas. The honoured songs, “Te Cura el Tiempo” and “Para Que a No Duela”, are from the album *Gravedad*. The band signed a partnership with Warner Music in February, toured with Live Nation and sold out three shows at Houston’s Toyota Center.

  • Grupo Duelo earned two Regional Mexican Airplay No. 1s this year.
  • Treviño says the band brought a more romantic approach to norteño.
