GTA 6 could reportedly be locked to 30 FPS, even on PS5 Pro
Reports based on comments from a Rockstar North co-director suggest that Grand Theft Auto 6 may launch at 30 frames per second on both PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 5 Pro. If accurate, this would matter because some players expect the more powerful Pro console to offer a 60fps option, although Rockstar has not confirmed final performance targets.
Brazilian creator DavyJones said he viewed gameplay running at 30fps during a Rockstar North visit and asked development leader Rob Nelson about it; Nelson did not give a definitive technical answer but described 30fps as suitable for the amount happening on screen. Rockstar has previously launched GTA V and Red Dead Redemption 2 at 30fps on consoles before later 60fps versions, and GTA 6 is due for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S on 19 November.
