GTA 6 Gameplay and Map Appear to Leak Online, Group Reportedly Responsible Threatens Rockstar Over All-Digital Future

IGN · 3 hours ago

Grand Theft Auto 6 appears to have suffered a fresh leak, with what look like genuine gameplay videos and an image of the game's complete map circulating online just months before its release. The material is linked to a website and cryptocurrency reportedly tied to a group calling itself "CyberLeek", which has issued demands to Rockstar Games and other publishers, criticising the shift towards all-digital releases, "fake" single-player DLC, and the removal of paid-for content. This matters because it is the latest in a string of high-profile GTA 6 leaks and comes with an explicit threat that other publishers could be targeted next.

Two videos reportedly show protagonist Jason playing basketball and driving a car while attacking an NPC, though their age and origin remain unconfirmed. Rockstar and parent company Take-Two appear to be removing the footage from social media, while a memecoin promoted alongside the leak has drawn attention amid fears it may be a scam; neither company has yet commented. The leak, if genuine, lands days before the Netflix-exclusive "GTA 6: An Extended Look" airs on 27 August, and follows previous incidents including a major 2022 hack, a leaked 2023 trailer, and an April 2026 data breach. GTA 6 is currently scheduled for release on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S on 19 November 2026.
