GTA 6 has more than 10 times the animations in GTA 5, and double the amount in Red Dead Redemption 2, Rockstar confirms
Rockstar Games says Grand Theft Auto 6 contains about 600,000 unique animations, underlining the scale of its effort to make the open world of Leonida feel detailed and reactive. The figure suggests a substantial expansion in environmental, character, vehicle and wildlife animation, with developers also stressing the hand-crafted detail in individual interiors.
For comparison, Grand Theft Auto 5 had around 55,000 animations and Red Dead Redemption 2 had about 300,000. That makes GTA 6’s total more than ten times GTA 5’s and roughly twice Red Dead Redemption 2’s, according to Rockstar; the game will also revise its Wanted system and place greater emphasis on the relationship between its two central characters.
