Rockstar’s extended look at Grand Theft Auto 6 has been released on YouTube after an initial six-hour Netflix exclusivity period, offering a detailed first view of gameplay. The footage suggests a more interactive and systems-driven open world, while also confirming several returning and expanded mechanics that may shape how players approach crime, combat and the relationship between protagonists Jason and Lucia.

The presentation shows contextual character interactions, a karma system, a returning six-star Wanted level, densely populated locations, and activities including races, jet skiing, weightlifting and scuba diving. Players can switch instantly between Jason and Lucia when they are together, while combat appears to feature freer aiming, cover-based shooting and a bullet-time ability targeting enemy weak points; Rockstar says the footage was captured on a PS5. The campaign also appears to include relationship choices and a “Criminal Profile” influenced by free-roam behaviour, while police will no longer be continuously displayed on the minimap.

  • GTA 6’s extended gameplay showcase is now publicly available on YouTube.
  • The game introduces deeper interactions, crime consequences and relationship choices.
  • Combat, character switching and Wanted mechanics appear significantly expanded.
